Welcome to the Irish Young Drummer of the Year Competition 2019.

This is a truly unique experience for any talented young drummers in Ireland. It offers a chance to test their skills amongst peers, with a chance to win a custom-made snare from Cambridge Drum Company.

We are delighted to have Trinity College London, Cambridge Drum Company, Rhythm Drum School and Vic Firth on board as our sponsors, for the very first Irish Young Drummer of the Year competition.

How to enter

Simply download and complete the competition entry form and email it to info@thegalwaydrumshow.com along with a link to an online video showcasing the entrants drumming skills.

Video links (YouTube/Facebook etc.) should showcase performances for two minutes, on an acoustic kit, with no other musicians or live musical accompaniment.

Please note the entrants’ face must be clearly visible on the video, and videos should not be edited.

Finalists will then be chosen to play at the Galway Drum Show in the Clayton Hotel on Sunday March 10th 2019. Finalists will be required to play a two minute solo, they will then have to play along to a piece of music supplied approximately 3 weeks prior to the finals.

At the end of the competition, Ireland will have a new Young Drummer of the Year winner, and proud owner of a custom-made snare by Cambridge Drum Company
